Set oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and allow to preheat.

In a large bowl, mix hash browns, cooked chicken, bacon bits, cheddar cheese, mixed vegetables, condensed cream of chicken soup, milk, and dried thyme until evenly combined.

Lightly grease a 7x11-inch baking dish with oil or butter. Spread the mixture evenly into the dish.

In a separate bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers with ½ cup grated cheddar cheese. Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the contents of the baking dish.

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until edges bubble and topping is golden brown.

Remove from oven and let rest for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
