Transfer batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow cake to cool completely. Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke evenly spaced holes across the surface. Pour warmed hot fudge sauce over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes.

Spread whipped cream or whipped topping evenly over the cooled and fudged cake. Sprinkle with crushed Oreos or chocolate cookie crumbs. Garnish with additional chocolate chips or cookies if desired.
