01 -
Spray a 9×5-inch loaf pan with baking spray and set aside.
02 -
In a medium bowl, mix ¾ cup granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon until evenly combined.
03 -
Place the thawed 1-pound bread dough in a shallow baking dish. Using a sharp knife, make five deep slits into the dough without cutting through the bottom.
04 -
Generously brush melted butter over the dough, ensuring the butter penetrates the slits. Sprinkle about one-third of the cinnamon sugar mixture into the slits and pat it in. Flip the dough, brush more butter and apply another third of the cinnamon sugar, rubbing it in thoroughly. Flip again, drizzle remaining butter, and sprinkle half of the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
05 -
Place the dough cut side up into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle remaining cinnamon sugar on top and moisten with the remaining butter to avoid dry sugar spots. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature for 30 minutes.
06 -
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Bake the bread for 40 minutes, rotating the pan 180 degrees halfway through. Place a sheet tray on the bottom rack to catch any spills.
07 -
Remove the bread from the oven and cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Run a butter knife along the edges to loosen and transfer to a wire rack.
08 -
While the bread is still warm, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk until smooth.
09 -
Pour the glaze evenly over the warm bread and allow it to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
