Pineapple Bacon Burger (Printer-Friendly)

Juicy beef patties wrapped in bacon with sweet pineapple and smoky BBQ, baked to perfection.

# The Ingredients You'll Need:

→ Burger Patties

01 - 1 pound lean ground beef (93/7 fat ratio)
02 - 4 tablespoons smoky barbecue sauce, divided
03 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
04 - 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

→ Toppings & Wrapping

05 - 8 slices smoked bacon, uncooked
06 - 4 fresh pineapple slices, 1/2 inch thick with core removed
07 - 4 brioche-style burger buns
08 - Toothpicks, for securing

# Step-by-Step Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and place an oven-safe wire rack on top.
02 - In a large bowl, gently combine ground beef with 2 tablespoons barbecue sauce, salt, and pepper. Avoid overmixing to keep patties tender.
03 - Divide seasoned meat into 4 equal portions and shape into patties approximately 3½ inches wide and 1/2 inch thick.
04 - On a parchment-lined tray, arrange 2 bacon slices in an X shape. Place a patty in the center, top with a pineapple slice, then fold bacon over and secure with a toothpick.
05 - Repeat the wrapping process with remaining patties, pineapple slices, and bacon. Arrange all assembled burgers on the prepared baking rack.
06 - Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and brush remaining 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce over the bacon using a pastry brush.
07 - Return to oven and bake an additional 10–15 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160°F or desired doneness.
08 - Remove burgers from oven and let rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes. Toast burger buns during this time if desired.
09 - Remove toothpicks and serve burgers on buns with additional toppings of choice such as lettuce or cheese.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Standard or center-cut bacon crisps better than thick-cut in this preparation.
02 - Fresh pineapple is preferred, but canned pineapple rings packed in juice may be used if patted dry.
03 - Let burgers rest after baking to retain juiciness and improve texture.
